Coming from a background in competitive sports allowed me to work under some amazing coaches and mentors. Looking back, this is where I first realized that I wanted to inspire others and try to emulate the greats that I had the pleasure of learning from.

From swimming nationally to playing semi professional soccer, my passion for training to achieve personal and athletic goals has always driven me to keep challenging myself. I have been working in the fitness industry for over a decade, beginning my career as a soccer coach both in the UK and then later in the US. I was inspired to take my Sports Science degree, and this lead the way to my career as a Personal Trainer. Over the years, my passion to educate myself and become as dynamic as possible lead to me achieving my Master kettlebell certification. I invested 6 years of study into learning how to use this tool and push myself every day to continue to discover the full range of its potential.

In the UK I ran a successful Personal Training business out of Virgin Active and Fitness First which allowed me to work with hundreds of clients from many walks of life. I have had the pleasure of working with athletes preparing to run marathons or triathlons, competitive tennis players, soccer and rugby teams and semi professional boxers, to individuals taking up exercise for the first time. My training style is easily moulded to the skill level of the individual client as I follow a scientific and functional approach to exercise. I am passionate about my work and my training and believe that as a fitness and lifestyle coach it really is important to practice what you preach. This is why you will see me in the gym 5 days a week pushing my body to new limits and trying new methods of training on myself before prescribing them to clients. I believe my role as a trainer is to empower my clients to understand the full potential of their bodies, specific training techniques and nutrition. I am driven by achieving the best results for my clients and strive to keep raising the bar higher.

As a former World-Class Athlete and dancer, fitness has always been a huge part of who I am. My passion for exercise, health and nutrition is what pushed me to become a certified Personal Trainer. I have experience training a wide variety of clients from the ages of 16-82 and enjoy the challenge of adapting my style and coaching techniques to these different demographics. Living a fit and healthy life means different things to different people and I believe no one is too young or too old to benefit from an exercise program.

I strongly believe that leading a healthy lifestyle is not about fashionable fitness trends, it is about adopting a no-nonsense approach to training and nutrition that will create faster, longer lasting results. I aim to help others increase their overall body performance and strength through functional training and use a variety of different training principles based on individual needs. Whether you want to lose weight, improve strength, build muscle mass, improve balance or coordination, strengthen from an injury or tone and define, I find it extremely rewarding helping clients achieve these goals. I am a highly motivating person who is inspired by those who wish to make the change to lead a healthier lifestyle. In turn, I hope to also inspire you through this process.

Fitness has been a huge part of my life from a very young age. Sports have brought me many opportunities in life from playing soccer in Spain to playing football for the University of Guelph. As a young athlete improving in sport has been one of my main motivators. I am passionate about learning how to help myself and others become stronger, faster, more agile and flexible for sport and everyday life. 

I majored in Human Kinetics at the University of Guelph and I am always looking to build on this knowledge. As a personal trainer, I love to apply what I have learned in my degree to help you reach and exceed your goals through the training and lifestyle strategies we teach at JMTraining & the Fitness Junction.

Growing up as an athlete, being active was simply a part of everyday life for David. From rugby, soccer, swimming, cross country and long-distance track and field, sport was integral to ensuring he stayed active and healthy. However, as David grew up, life got in the way and he found he had developed some bad habits, leaving his health at risk. It was in that realization that David’s passion for fitness developed, as he transformed his own health with the help of circuit style training. 

After 7 years of participating in and helping other trainers run classes, David became a personal Trainer, TRX and Circuit Training Instructor and Fitness Coach. After experiencing the benefits of exercise in his own fitness journey and how much better he felt, David was thrilled to be able to help others turn their health around. He thrives off sharing his experience as a client and trainer, to help mentor others pursuing their own transformations and careers in fitness!
